Asylum Day 3 and I haven’t been this sore in months. When I workout, sweating is great but if i don’t feel some kind of soreness I don’t think I’ve worked hard enough. This probably comes for years of weight lifting and football coaches in my head screaming with a pinch of Army and martial arts mixed in for good measure. Turbofire showed me that I don’t need to be sore to get a solid workout, Insanity Asylum is reminding me that I like it.
Back to core was on tap for this morning and this was probably the best session I’ve had ever. I was able to do all the activities, in good form, although I still really don’t like doing the jumping jacks in the beginning for the warm. More props to my redheaded workout step child turbo fire. Because of my working with Chalene over the last 90 days, I developed are stronger and more in control core system which allowed me to push harder for Shaun T’s workout this morning. I’m no longer worried about my oblique being injured and I can feel the core muscles working that should be working. If you have an in between time between wanting to start “hardcore” workouts, I HIGHLY recommend doing turbofire for 90 days just to get a sense of change and strengthening without realizing it. (Maybe it was the best workout ever after all).
Now back to Asylum, the best workout EVER! Day 3 back to core when done properly and not trying to rush through the exercise you can feel your mid-section getting leaner as you work it. I missed a chance to workout with Shaun-T about two weeks ago when he was in Peoria, IL. Funny, i’m usually in Peoria on weekend to be with my son and this weekend he was with me in Chicago…go figure. I guess the gods of fitness knew I wouldn’t be ready but next time!
I also did this workout with the music turned off and I don’t like it. The music adds a level in intensity that just listening to people breath hard doesn’t get. I think I may have a new favorite!!! The red head Ariel is a hottie!
That’s all for today, I have a Santa 5k on Saturday and then i’m taking all my racing tags off my desk as the year in running is over. Any runners have ideas on what to do with the tags? I’d love to make something out of them as this was my first year ever doing something like that.
Tomorrow morning is….vertical plyo. Keep pushing play and i’ll see you there.
Remember 27 more days to finish out the end of the year strong and start 2012 IN SHAPE instead of making useless resolutions to promise to do it. No time like the present. Make next year the time to Do Something Amazing
