Today I did my
six 5.5 mile run! I’m actually pissed because, in my head, I plotted out a 6 mile course by putting together a route from my 4 mile run that would give me six. I ended up at 5.67! I think I need to start using a program or something to officially lay out my course.
Overall it wasn’t a bad run, It was hot and humid and i’m tired from running the Beachpalooza 5k obstacle course and then a wedding for my sister yesterday. I’ve decided against a fanny pack and I think i’m sticking with my camelbak because it caries 5 liters of water and hold my phone and everything else. My vibram bikilas are proving to be a god send and my feet are tired and sore now but tomorrow morning they will be fine. I know this because at the end of the 5k yesterday and every 5k I’ve done this year, my feet are tired and sore but good as new in the morning. Barefoot technology for running is amazing and if you haven’t tried it i suggest you do so. Although I’ve been told if i were to switch back to my other running shoes I would probably be able to run faster as i’m not compensating for not having cushion on the bottoms of my feet but I think i’ll keep doing it like this and will eventually develop the natural cushioning that I need.
Yesterdays run was my 3 mile which I did at the 5k in 45 minutes. IT would have been faster but it’s an obstacle course and i had to wait at some of the obstacles for up to 7 minutes.
Todays 5.67 miles was in 1:22 minutes, which is shorter than i expected. I had expected 6 miles to take me about 1.5 hours. I doubt the last .3 miles would have taken me 8 minutes.
tomorrow is a running rest day so ill be back for more on Tuesday with another 3 mile day
