Last week I basically missed the entire week of insanity with the exception of a few days. SO I decided I need to to the last two weeks instead of this being the last week. I didn’t go without a workout last week as I taught turbo kick twice and did that workout through the week, but this is my Insanity cycle and I need to finish it.
My shoulders and collar bones are sore and I don’t know why. doing moving pushups was a choir but I forced myself to complete a memorial day workout AFTER the bbq this afternoon with friends. I NEEDED this workout. Sometimes the body needs that jumpstart to reactivate the muscles and Insanity is a jumpstart
Tomorrow is tripple duty as I have Insanity, teach turbo kick and I start my Marathon running. 3 miles…not bad and I don’t expect it to be difficult, just extra calories going out so I need to make sure to eat enough.
Keep pushing play. Summer has unofficially started and I’m ready. Beachbody summit in 3 weeks, Warrior dash in 4 weeks and a summer of running and turbo ahead of me. Lets enjoy the warm weather and stay active.
Last night I taught turbo-kick. I got up this morning and started to do Insanity and decided it would be smarter to do yoga. 40 Minutes of Stretch with Chalene follow by cardio abs and i’m feeling pretty good.
Life is starting to get busy and I’m glad I have a daily workout routine to provide some stability in my days.
I got to the workout today and it’s Cardio Balance and Power?! That’s the workout I did for a “recovery” week. OMG, Shaun T has run out of ways to torture me! Only this workout was surprisingly difficult all be it doable.
my core is stronger, my balance is better. The next two weeks of Insanity are going to be kicked up to beast mode and I need to start thinking about my next workout. I have to start running SOON so i’m thinking of doing Insanity: Asylum in June along with running. After that I’ll do Turbo-fire and run for the rest of the summer/early fall. Sounds like a plan.
I worked on Turbo-kick round 50 today after insanity. I’m going to teach it in class on Tuesday and Thursday next week so i’m getting the routine and cue’s down.
The biggest thing I love about the insanity workouts is that even when the engine doesn’t feel like it wants to get moving, if you just push a little and go through the paces, by the end of the workout you’re fully engaged in it. Today was a double whammy as I had to do cardio abs as well.
Nutrition is becoming more and more important as my fitness progresses and I am so thankful that I learned about Shakeology last year. There are other products out there that are similar and a little cheaper but you get what you pay for and I have had no negative results with Shakeology. The entire beachbody family of products has been amazing for me on my journey. The workouts inspire and deliver on promises if you put the work in. The nutrition products are top notch and the support system is great. I can’t wait to go to Beachbody Coaches Summit in Vegas this June. I think the experience of meeting all the trainers will be a blast.
I learned so much in the P90X certification program that I better understand the muscle and cardio systems that are working when I get tired or feel like I hit a wall and it’s made it easier to train through them. Now I need to buckle down and finish my NASM certification and then I think i’m going to open a gym. I love fitness much better than technology, it’s more fulfilling.
If you are having problem losing weight, email me and we can talk. I’ve been 380lbs and lost 80 of it in a year. I’m only getting fitter and healthier and I know what you’re going through. The frustration of not seeing the results you hope to see right away. The change is happening, sometimes it just takes a bit longer.
There is a cool feeling when you know you’re pushing your body and not injuring yourself. You feel all the right muscle groups working in the core, your arms are pumped up and your lungs are breathing in and out as a pace that faster but easily providing your with enough oxygen. You are in shape, healthy and loving life
Yesterday I did Insanity and then taught a Turbo-kick class in the evening. I got home around 9pm, had a shakeology and went to sleep. I got up this morning and Hit insanity again. I’m tired, and my knees are a little sore but my body is responding the way it’s suppose to. I say move, it moves, I say jump, it jumps, I say switch lunges with a hop and it says…FUCK YOU
OMG my knees are so sore I had to skip out on the last 12 minutes of Insanity. I can push but as you get to know your body, you learn when you have to back off and my legs were not going to do switch lunges with a hop. Right knee is a tad sore and I can correct this by spending some time on my rumble roller tonight.
I got up and worked and it feels good!
I also registered for the Beachbody Summit in Vegas this June. I’ve been a coach for exactly a year and I’m going because this company is doing amazing things! I got off the couch and got into running and being healthy again because of P90X and Insanity. I got energy and fun back in my spirit because of turbo-fire. I”m finding the me I used to be and making it better.
The world my end in 2012 ( I highly doubt it) but it will be the year I crossed the line from getting healthy to being healthy again.
Keep pushing play and tomorrow is a much needed recovery workout…I think
Insanity is back with a vengeance this morning! Initially my body didn’t want to move but around the 2nd interval I was into the routine. This is the only routine I’ve done with insanity that makes me light headed.
I’ve got a new game with Mr. Shaun -T, it’s call the A game. Have you ever noticed how many people in his cast have names that begin with A? Ariel, Anthony, Alison, Angelique, Alicia, Akill. The man seems to be obsessed with the letter A. You know who else get’s obsessed with letter? ELMO!
I”m still convinced that Shaun-T is Elmo
I’m teaching turbo-kick class tonight so I need to rest up and get ready to dump another 800 calories out of my body!
This morning was Max Cardio Conditioning, which should probably be called Max Endurance conditioning instead but I didn’t create the program so oh well.
I missed 4 days of my Insanity workout last week because I was out of town and then on Saturday and Sunday I was going through my P90X certifications. I passed! I am now a certified P90X instructor, Turbo-kick instructor…what’s next? Who knows.
This mornings workout was difficult because I haven’t been in an Insanity zone for the last week. I had a killer P90X masters workout on Saturday and a pretty intense Yoga session on Sunday morning but none of that is Insane.
After the nutrition session for the certification and talking with one of the instructors I’ve decided to send some extra study time in diet and actively work on that process for the summer. Its interesting hearing about the balances that are in the body and get out of wack when you don’t eat the proper foods…
Anyway, I’m back in the workout for the next 3 weeks of Insanity and then I need to switch gears slightly and begin focusing on my Chicago Marathon training.
This is turning into an amazing year of changes for me.
Max Interval Plyo - Three minutes of hell followed by a 30 second break only to jump once more into the breach….several times. Towards the end of this workout I had to sit down and skip on the pushups as I got light headed. I haven’t gotten light headed doing a workout in ages. The amount of grossness sweating from me during this routine was off the chart. I drank and entire cup of water and probably sweat out 2.
My lower back and upper butt is extremely tight so I did the rumble roller last night and a few minutes this morning. Lower back tightness for me usually means i’m working different muscles and something is about to change…hopefully for the better.
Today’s workout really felt Insane! Shaun -T is bouncing around like none of this phases him, sweat is flying, No one should smile like he does while doing this. Even Tania had to take a few breaks!
ewww, my ears are sweating…time for a shower!
I’m teaching a turbo-kick class tonight so hopefully my energy levels recovery by 7pm or it’s going to be a LOOONG class.
Max Interval Circuit. - this wasn’t as bad as I was expecting it to be (or remembered it being when I was 380lbs) but it was not a walk in the park. The second month of this craziness starts with a bang! Suddenly all those exercises that I didn’t like doing in Month one, Like the cardio abs warm up with the high knee obliques, is a 60 second routine in this workout and my body is screaming at me calling me a dick. The workouts for Month 2 go from being 40 minutes to a 60 minutes. I know it’s only 20 minutes but the difference is noticeable. At some point I look down at the clock and my body groans and reminds me that if we were doing month one, we’d almost be done.
he’s not playing around anymore! Notice the red tint…scary
I burned almost 700 calories this morning, and that’s with me missing two rounds in the circuits because I had to stretch my lower back. That is the biggest component I feel is missing from Insanity as a whole, the stretching. I know you get a once a week “easier” workout but I think a solid stretching yoga should have been incorporated into one of the days.
I always get worried when I see an Insanity routine when there is no Tania or Rachel. This round they seemed to have been replaced with a super-woman hybrid with a hat. If you think Rachel works hard, this woman is a beast and doesn’t slow down and doesn’t even look like it’s bothering her most of the time. I need to find a picture…
Anyway, this was a great workout!, I “enjoyed” it and needed it after a week of recovery. Now i need to fuel myself. I’m going to have a coconut milk shakeology. Kat and I have committed to eating healthy and clean during this month of insanity. It will be difficult since I’ll be out of town for the rest of the week and doing P90X certifications this weekend but I shall make it happen.
Last day of Cardio abs and balance done! This workout grew on me over the week as I got a better understanding for what it was accomplishing. It’s not really a recovery workout as much as a focus on different muscle groups for a week.
I think this is the workout that you need to do to be ready to do Month 2 of Insanity successfully and safely.
I knocked it out and am ready for the next level! Normally tomorrow is suppose to be a rest day but I’m going to start tomorrow as I will be out of town for 3 days next week.
P90X certification is next weekend!
Wow i’m going to be busy and tired. Fingers crossed I have to energy and mental focus to accomplish everything I need to.
Day 29 or is it 31? At some point I numbered wrong so whatever, it’s another day done. This mornings workout was much better than last nights. Same routine, same hip flexor work, different attitude. I’ve decided to play the ELMO game while I do insanity. What’s the elmo game you ask? (go on, ask…i’m waiting….)
The Elmo game is when ever Shaun T refers to himself in the 3rd person, I suddenly hear Elmo’s voice. I’ve noticed that when he gets winded, Shaun T calls himself Shaun T and it’s kind of funny. It get’s funnier the more tired you are. By the 5th time you hear him say something like “Shaun T is going to drink a little water” you’re almost ready to die laughing….especially if you begin to substitute Shaun-T for ELMO. As he goes around the room talking to various people (sometimes referring to them in the 3rd person as well) it’s like when elmo goes around his room and starts talking to things like his gold fish or his tv or his computer. (I have a 18 month old that addicted to Elmo, can you tell?)
Anyway, try it. The elmo game. It makes Insanity, insanely funny. Now elmo needs to go make elmo a Shakeology using mr. blender.
