#marathontraining

You want to know the definition of hell?  If you listen to Sting and the Police it’s something like: A skeleton choking on a crust of bread, there’s a black spot on the sun, there a seagull with a broken wing.  If you listen to Howard Jones it’s something like: Doctor says you’re cured, but you still feel the pain, you’re he fastest runner but you’re not allowed to win.

If you listen to me, it’s being on mile 9 of a 10 mile run and suddenly realizing that you grossly miscalculated and are still 3 miles from home…That my friend is HELL!

I must admit it feels good to be running again AND to be able to run the distances…even if the speed is not there.  I have 2 months before the Chicago Marathon, I can do this.

View from my run:

This one was directly on my path!  I got lost in the back trails for a half mile and ended up running through a deer nest.  The entire family took off running.

On mile 9 when I was wrapping my mind around the fact I still have 3 miles to get home.  I turned on some music and the first words I heard were from Katy Perry singing: “Days like this you want to crawl away-a”

I started laughing…people probably thought I was crazy.

Anyway, another run in the books, i’m blessed that I can run.  I’m running in shoes for my long runs and vibrams for my shorter runs and thus far that is working nicely.

Starting P90X tomorrow…the rest of this summer and fall is going to be FUN!
