After a long weekend in central Illinois, it felt good, although sluggish, to be jumping back into a HIIT workout at 4 am.  I did something over the weekend and hurt my left knee a little bit so the jumping around was not without twinges this morning but I got a hard sweat.

My Birthday is tomorrow and I’ve noticed, ever since turning 32, I get a new injury every birthday.  I guess the knee twinge is just in time.  Fortunately I don’t think this is serious but I hope it doesn’t keep me from starting my new running routine tomorrow.

I’ve got 8 weeks to get ready for another 1/2 marathon, this on in Disney World!  I got 8 more weeks for TurboFire.  Looks like a good combo :)  I’ll finish Turbo and the marathon and will be start P90X2 the 2nd week of January.

This year has been all about getting up and getting moving again, dropping weight and being active.  I think 2012 will be about becoming competitive again.  By the end of next year I want to run fast, jump harder and I’m going to get officially back into martial arts.  Next year is going to be great but for now we have to continue to to

Just push play!  8 more weeks of turbofire, let’s crush this!

The time change has got me loopy so I decided to skip working out yesterday and do that workout today and I will skip my rest day on wed (confused?  it’ll make more sense as the week progresses).

After doing the turbo-kick certification class, HIIT 20 was not that difficult.  I got a great workout but its different when you’re not being evaluated by an instructor to determine if your form is good enough to be able to teach a class.

Tone 30 is becoming my least favorite class.  For some reason my shoulders do not like doing any of the shoulder workouts and the muscle burning I experience is EPIC!  This means I probably really need it, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it!

I’m rushing off to work but I”ll be back with more later!

Week 9 Starts Month 3 of Turbofire and I’m now in a HIIT series.  High Intensity Interval Training is the name of the game and after a 1/2 marathon this weekend, my legs and feet are sore and my shoulders hurt but the show must go on.

The first Hiit routine had me sweating as I don’t think my metabolism has slowed down much since this weekend.  I’ve been sweaty at night, I came down with a cold the evening after the run.   It was as if the body were holding together just to help me through this.  Now I have to revamp and ask the body to continue to push me to the next level.  Hiit was easier as I started to warm up more and loosen up.  The feet started to hurt less and I pushed through.  I think my favorite part of all these videos is now when Chalene throws her arms open and yells “You’re not tired.”  You go girl, I’m not tired!

Tone30 is another animal.  Normally I’m much stronger than this routine but today was a struggle.  I even skipped doing the lungs and squats because my legs can’t do it right now.  my sore shoulders got a murderous burn as  I pushed though bicepts, tricepts, shoulder ext.  My butt is burning and my abs are sore.  Another workout in the books!

I’m trying to decide if i’m running another 13.1 in November for Thanksgiving.  I now KNOW i can do it, now it’s pride and  I want to do it faster!  But I can’t look there now, I have turbo-kick instructor certification this coming saturday.

I will be certified to teach turbo!!!  I still refuse to wear my hat sideways, wear neon color arm bands…ok i might do that, but I will enjoy teaching other people how to get one of the best kickboxing workout I’ve done.

It’s getting cold outside folks, harder to run outside, harder to get up in the morning but fight through it and …

Keep pushing play!

Nothing in my body wanted to do this workout today.  I felt heavy and tired and considerably non bouncy.  20 minutes of high intensity jumping around like a track star.  My lungs are still hurting from the pollen in the wonderful fall air, i’m dripping with sweat and since what you ate two days ago fuels your workout, I did this one fueled with pulled pork, cake, chips and party dip.

To drive that point home, Chalene mentioned something about diet today, if you’re going to train like an athlete, it’s time to start eating like an athlete.  I feel like mom just gave me a lecture :(  She’s right of course, I need to clamp down on my diet and that was suppose to be a huge focus for this Turbofire workout.  I can’t allow myself to get off track so I think i’m going to start using the beachbody calorie intake application.  It’s all about accountability right?  I’m easily accountable for my workouts, it’s time to add the diet to this as well.

HIIT was NOT enjoyable today, I probably worked at about 70% but I still feel like I got a workout.  I am suppose to run 3 miles today and tomorrow is a total rest day, thank goodness.

Keep pushing play, the fall season of continuing to be fit is just beginning.  In four months, you don’t want to look back at these blogs and think you could have started your workout with me and be done by now, instead of only taking the first step and feeling frustrated.  Take control of your health, your activity level and your happiness.  Fitness is not the end all be all of being happy, but its damn close to 50%.  If you are physically healthy, you have established good habits that translate into other areas of your life.  Make the leap now and begin your journey
