This is it, the fit test is completed and I had to push it and dig deeper but I got numbers and i’m pretty happy. But first let me just reiterate…

So that’s it!  Insanity is officially done and i’m packing up for Disney tomorrow.  I’m going to do a round of Yoga tonight and probably some serious rumble rolling on Friday and then the run.

So insanity is over what comes next?

Max Interval Cardio and Cardio Abs…Done and DONE!

60 Days of Insanity completed (61 if you count tomorrow’s fit test).  This was a good way to end the Insanity run as I needed a good sweat and the next few days is going to be a lot of yoga and stretching leading up to Saturday.

I need to send in my information to Beachbody this time so I can get my free T-shirt because I earned it :)

Some things I’ve learned this round of Insanity that I will carry on and teach in my classes.  Shaun-T is a metronome there to keep pace and keep you moving.  If you can’t move at his pace, DON’T or you will get hurt and I feel this is how so many people get injured doing Insanity.  The metronome keeps pace and lets you know how fast you should EVENTUALLY GET, but you can’t start off that way if you’re not in the shape to do so.

There were times the metronome was to fast for my body and I had to slow down and modify, that’s how you stay injury free.

Diet is core to this workout more than you would ever imagine.  The first month I did great but then Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Years hit and my diet wend down and so did my energy.  You have to fuel properly to perform properly .  I know everyone says this but living it out during a workout drives the point home. Eating two McRibs and then doing Insanity the next morning does not make for a happy body.

When doing cumulative workouts (for me this means a routine that continues to build and wear you down), rest is important.  If you get to round 3 of Insanity you can probably go out and play all day and workout.  If you’re just starting out, expect to be tired and sore and drained for 60 days.  You are changing your body and it looks great to see people working out and then playing on the beach in Infomercials but you have to get to that point.  Be happy with being tired and REST.

That’s all I have today.  Tomorrow i’m doing my fittest and will post the results on my growing facebook page: www.facebook.com/dsafitness.  I’ll also do a much needed round of YOGA!

In a week I’ll be starting Insanity: The Asylum vol I (yes there is a vol 2).  Order your copy from me today and join me starting on Jan 21st for 30 days of agility and sports training

Have a great Day!

I’m so over insanity right now.  My body did not want to move this morning, I’m stiff and sore and whinny and I have a 1/2 marathon to run on Saturday and my nose is stuffy and blah blah blah

I went through the motions because what I think I really need is some good stretching.

One more day!

For Asylum, I think i’m going to switch up my blog a little and do video blogs for 30 days.

Core Cardio and Balance

I see this is the scheduled workout and my first thought is, NICE an easy one.  The thing about Insanity is that it should never be considered easy, there are just degrees of difficulty. On a 10 point scale, core and balance is about a 6, where as Max interval ANYTHING is about an 11 and your average workout is about a 4.

My core is sore from teaching Turbo on Saturday.  It’s another one of those workouts that is not fair to compare.  It’s not as hard as Insanity but it works you in ways that you feel later.

Two more days of Insanity, two days of Yoga and Saturday is my Disney 1/2 marathon!  The excitement is mounting and i’m nervous.  I made the commitment to do all my running this year in vibrams or barefoot, I already know that around my 8 my feet will begin to hurt because I haven’t trained in Vibrams in months…I’ll do it and get stronger but the last 1/2 of this run is going to be interesting.

Two more Insanity workouts to go!!!

First session at the park district for this year and it started with a BANG!

P90X/Insanity hybrid class is awesome with people pushing and excited about doing it!  I love a group that had energy.

We are going to put a team together and do a local biggest loser contest between our’s and other park districts.  I already know we are going to win because I’m cool like that AND my team is going to be awesome and wants to do this for the joy of getting fit and healthy.

8:30 workout was running people though the paces to do a fit test and get a baseline for the 8 week session.

9:30 workout was TURBO TIME!!!!  I haven’t taught turbo in a few months because the class go cancelled due to low turnout.  I’m trying to turn that around by adding the fun and energy back into it.  It’s my goal to make the words TURBO-TIME and instant excitement button in the people who workout with me.  Getting P90X and Turbo-kick certified continue to be one of the best things I’ve done in the last few years.  I can’t wait to get an Insanity certification!

So 3 more days of Insanity and I’m done!  Running the Disney next weekend and then moving on to Asylum!

This year is going awesome so far, God is good, my body is working at levels I want it to, now I need to just keep the buzz going

Some things get easier and some continue to get harder.  I seem to have lost the ability to do squat jumps and I don’t know why.  I’m pretty sure it’s a mental block and I just don’t want to expend the energy for it.  I’ve modified them by doing High Knee runs.

Max Interval Plyo kicked off the last week of Insanity and I think I”m ready to be done with it this time around.  60 days of jumping around with this crazy man started in Nov and is reaching the end.  Fortunately, or un, I made a Shaun-T commitment for the beginning of this year so I’m taking a few days off to run the Disney 1/2 marathon

and then i’m rolling into Insanity: The Asylum Vol 1.  I like Asylum better than Insanity as it’s more of an overall body workout and not as much of a shock to your system…in my opinion.

I invite you to get a copy and join me for the Asylum.

See ya tomorrow…or later today if I decide to go for another run

2013 is here with a bang.  Had a nice frosty run this morning and did Cardio Core and Balance this afternoon.

I now have 7 more days of Insanity left and next weekend I’ll be running in the Disney 1/2 marathon.

New year, same goals more intensity.

Last workout of the year….DONE!

That’s all I got,  Happy New Year and stay safe

Insani

Let the countdown begin, 9 more days of this craziness.

Day 51, Max Cardio Conditioning and Cardio Abs.  Yes that is an AND in the middle of that.  Two workouts, althought cardio abs is only 15 minutes, it’s still probably harder than YOUR workout

See that smile?  That’s the look of a man that has been with me for the last 51 days and seen me get stronger and faster as I continue to trim down.

The importance of a workout partner became paramount today as I really didn’t feel like doing this.  Kat got up and insisted we do our routine and i’m glad I did.  If you don’t have a workout partner or an accountability partner, message me!  I’m very serious.  One of the biggest benefits to being a beachbody coach is that I have access to people who continue to motivate me and I continue to help the people I coach stay motivated and accountable.

One of the people i’m working with I email every morning and we make sure a workout was done or will be done later in the day.  if a workout is missed we talk about why, what and how to avoid that situation in the future.  It works and it’s free!

New Year, here we come!

I taught my Saturday class at the park district today and instead of doing a P90X/Insanity hybrid, I just taught straight Kenpo X.

This is my first time teaching Kenpo X and it went really good!  I mean, it’s not that difficult and I have done martial arts in one form or another my entire life so it wasn’t a matter of me not being able to teach it, it’s more of a I don’t like Kenpo X.  It’s like a bastardized version of a martial art…which it should be because it’s a P90X version of it.  I just still get annoyed doing the wrong punches and kicks and blah blah blah

i’m a snob…bite me.

Tomorrow is suppose to be a recovery day but since i’m 3 days behind in my workout, i’m just going to workout and get it done.  10 more days of Insanity!  Then a 1/2 marathon at Disney then…

30 days of Asylum that is going to lead into 30 days of Asylum 2

I love starting the year off with a bang.  Last year started with the Disney 1/2 Marathon and I kept working out and training from there.  This year is going to be even better (this year being 2013, i’m so excited i’m just skipping the next few days).  Ok, I need a shakeology!

See you tomorrow!
