Game Day and Overtime!
In an effort to get my asylum workouts back on track, I skipped relief this week and jumped right into game day, followed by the 15 minutes overtime.

All that working out for 60 minutes of simulated sports! Team Asylum did not win today. They showed up and gave it a solid try, much like the 49’ers against my awesome Ravens in the superbowl.
I was decent for most of the activities but swimming, football and baseball were not fun for me this time out. I don’t think I won my tennis match either, but I was all over Soccer.
Just when I thought there was nothing else, enter OVERTIME! Over time is best described at Insanity (the original) on Steroirds. If he created an entire workout based on the Overtime activities, more people would be injured than ever before. The amount of strength and control needed to do power jumps from a kneeling position is damn near impossible. All this and Shaun T inspires you with:
doesn’t sound that inspiring but guess what…it TOTALLY ISN”T! Although it did make me made enough to keep moving….so maybe it worked after all.
Like I said, Team Asylum did not win this game day but we showed up and that is what is important!
Keep pushing play and dig deeper!
As I looked at the calendar this morning, my workout schedule is all kinds of out of order, I’m off about about two days, one of which was a relief day so I guess ti might not be that bad. I did Strength this morning

The combo of Asylum and Yoga is really changing the way I workout. I can feel the deeper internal muscles working more and that’s a good thing. Abs form from the inside out and my inside has been getting hammered the last 3 weeks.
My weight has been holding steady but on the low side (if you understand that then you workout, if you don’t, you’ll figure it out when you commit to your fitness :)
I up’d my weights by 5lbs today for most of the strength routine. I think I may teach this routine in class next saturday (evil laugh).

I’ve been taking cardio igniter for the last 5 days and I can tell the difference in the intensity of my workout! I have signed up for the Disney 1/2 Marathon in California this Aug so I would like to start running soon but right now i’m content with Bikram in the evenings, it’s a cardio workout?

That’s all I go for today, Have a great one and keep pushing play.
Beachbody has done wonders for my mind set and health goals. I encourage you to check it out for YOU. Not for the sales of buy this or buy that, but look at the programs and give it a try, With a solid routine you’d be amazed how quickly your fitness can begin to return.
Yesterday was the Superbowl. As a huge Ravens fan, i’m most happy about the victory. So happy in fact I drank and drank and woke up this morning with a hangover. I have not had a hangover in years as I don’t normally drink.
Fortunately for me, todays workout for Insanity was just Relief. Thank you Shaun T for making my body feel good again. I stretched and pulled to the point that I felt good enough to go to my Bikram.
Let me just say that excessive alcohol and hot yoga don’t necessarily mix. I, apparently was not the only one celebrating last night as the room smelled like beer from all the people sweating out the weekends toxins. Fortunately I had enough hydration in me to make it through class, but it was not my best showing.
This was one of those session where you go and do yoga because you know you need to do it to get back on track. The heat didn’t bother me as much this time but the compression poses made me decide that drinking as much as I did is never a good idea again.
That’s all I got for tonight, have a good one
It was going to happen sooner or later. All that work and pushing and sweating has to meet a test from time to time or what’s the point?
Enter GameDay

Sports simulation with the agility ladder to show you the level of fitness you are currently at. Some of the activities I am Boss at, while others i’m still working towards.
Truth be told, this is just a fun way to run through all the exercises that you do during the asylum video series in one 60 minute session, with the back drop of competition. Team Asylum kicks butt!
Power jumps, back extensions, push ups, running, soccer kicks, baseball, football, tennis, skating, swimming, SURFING….it’s all here. You will have to find at least one ‘sport” you like during this routine.
I also started taking a few supplements. I want to try a few things so I did a cardio ignite pre-workout drink and i’m going to take some other things during the day. I have a 30 day supply so I’ll judge the results along with cleaning up my eating through the month of Feb.
That reminds me!
I know we are only 11 Days into a 30 days Asylum workout but if you are wanting to come with me to the Asylum 2 toward the end of February now is the time to start placing your order. I’m going to order mine as well. It seems like an awesome way to complete a 4 month Journey that started back in November with Insanity.
How is your new years fitness journey coming? Its only been one month but if you are thinking about throwing in the towel, DON’T! Send me a message and give Beachbody a try. I will be your coach and help you though the hard parts but you have to email me and let me know what you need. Sometimes, the difference between success and failure is simple Pride:

Tomorrow I”m teaching P90X but I may have everyone just do my back to core workout so I don’t have to workout twice :) #lazymuch
Have an amazing day
Today was supposed to be game day. I woke up at 2 am and fell back to sleep and woke up again at 6:30, just in time to get dressed and head to work.
Today was a Turbo-kick day at work so I taught my class and headed home. Problem, it’s cold, i’m tired an sore and there is no energy to do game day.
I’m pushing it off for tomorrow because that would be the smart thing to do. Yoga last night and the bastard Chicago weather going from 65 to 12 in a 24 hour span, have completely left me drained.
That all I go, a solid round of turbo and good night
I haven’t done this routine in awhile and I forgot all about creepy “make your body feel good” Shaun T
The music is soft, his voice is soft, his hands are all over Ariel who is looking like she’s having mini orgasms doing the cat stretch and Mr. T continues to say “This is all about making your body feel good” and offering his services to push down on your lower back

You ole dog you!
Last night I did 90 minutes of Bikram so when I got up this morning, I wasn’t expecting much out of this routine because I had stretched and worked so hard last night. I STAND CORRECTED.
Yoga works you and stretches you, Relief manages to find an entirely new set of muscles that Bikram seemed to have missed last night. I”m glad I didn’t get to full of myself and decide not to do this 25 minutes of pure workout stretch porn (Rachel will always have a space in my heart but lil red head ariel is looking GOOD.
So that’s all for today, I plan on doing Yoga again tonight as I am finding it to be the best 90 minutes I spend a night. I wonder should I look into getting certified to teach this?
Have a great one!
Today is supposed to be a rest day, I’m switching that to tomorrow and I did Speed and Agility today.

As silly as it may sound, I’ve already noticed improvements with this routine. I’m not hitting the ladder and I can go faster for longer before needing to slow down to maintain control. I’ve also gotten to the point where I can do mountain climbers and ab progression to the 3rd box! For the longest time I could barely make the 2nd box without hitting the ladder. My mid section is slimming and my flexibility is returning.
I woke up this morning thinking about diet changes and I think i’m going to make an all out effort to migrate to a primarily plant based diet. Having done the Ultimate Reset, I know I can handle it, I will need to increase proportions but this is doable for me. The biggest problem I have is that I hate thinking about food, it’s exhausting to me. Not in the way of counting calories or something like that but in the way of planning out what i’m going to eat when i get hungry and what I need to eat to ensure i’m getting the protein i need from plant based diets.

I’m an IT professional (i’m actually an UBER- IT profesional, system architect) so I work and don’t tend to remember i’m hungry until i’m hungry, at that point I want to grab something quick. Going plant based is going to force me to THINK about when i’m suddenly hungry and have food ready and to me, THIS IS WORK.
Anyone have any tip i’m open for suggestion
Very Solid workout this morning, not doing yoga last night was probably a good thing as I do need to rehydrate desperately. In my health screening yesterday they scanned me at 47% hydration 47%!!! That’s not even 1/2! Bikram is a great practice but I think I need to be more careful and conscious of my liquid intake….damn it, more thinking about food.
Have a great day! If you’re interested in learning more about beachbody or becoming a coach, hit me up. I’m excited about what the programs have done for me physically and financially and always looking to help someone else.
Day 4 and I”m beginning to remember how incredibly accumulative the Asylum workout are. By accumulative I mean, the more you do them the more they build on themselves and wear you down.
I taught turbo kick at work today and my class is growing as the nurses and administrative staff are liking it an spreading the word. I had 18 people there today!
I then came home and popped in my Vertical Plyo workout. I will tell you the best thing about VP, it’s only 40 minutes long! The worst part of VP, I don’t feel like jumping AFTER jumping during turbo kick. At one point during the workout Mr. T (Shaun T not Mister…T…errr…yeah) says:

and he’s right, this is no insanity! The jumping is easier because of doing insanity but the control level needed makes it all harder. I’ve noticed that when doing Asylum, i generally don’t mind that my son is all over me because the control needed to land and jump keeps me from running him down….most of the time.
I was going to do Yoga tonight at 7 but i’m kind of exhaused and already dehydrated. (I took a fitness assessment today getting ready for the biggest loser contest and my hydration is at 47% where they want it at 60%) I blame the yoga as it drains me. I have decided to take a break tonight even though I think yoga would be over all good for me. I just don’t have the energy to do 90 minutes in the heat when I already have a headache/sinus issue going on and I want to sleep.
So that’s all for tonight, Tomorrow is a rest day for Asylum but I think I may workout and transfer that to Saturday.
As always, join my team, i’m always looking for new people to connect with and possibly other who want to become beach body coaches.
