As the workouts continue I can feel my agility and balance increasing. I have the added benefit of also training for a 1/2 marathon so I can feel the difference in my running based directly off my Asylum workouts
This morning i feel heavy, sluggish and bloated. I think the lovely fall weather has brought me another sinus imfection so m pushing through that while doing the craziness. Shaun T said something in this workout about how he had to lose his mind to give you a new body. Hes joking of course but you kind of do have to have an extreme mental shift to decide to tackle a workout program thatvpromises you results in 30, 60 or 90 days because the shit will be hard! I still think Insanity was harder than Asylum but Asylum really does work a different rype of muscle group.
At the end of Asylum, I will be going back and doing a second round of Insanity (p90x2 will not be out until dec). If you would like to join me on this 60 day craziness, ill tell you how to order a copy shortly.
I think tomorrow is a rest day but if not i will be here still pushing play

I jumped right back on the running horse today with a solid 6 mile run (5.9 mile run). I didn’t do the 3 miles yesterday because I walked all around comic-con and figured that would be almost equal to running 3 miles. Don’t laugh, you’d be surprised. I work up this morning with a killer headache, not feeling the greatest but I knew I was was going to do this run. I had to do this run. I have the endurance and the legs to be able to effectively do this run, If i didn’t do it, i would lose that come next week.
I went to comic con this morning again and met Erin Grey (schwing), got home and tossed on the vibram bikilas and hit the forest preserve. It’s a nice 76 outside so heat was no where near a factor in this workout. The only thing I wish I could have done different about this run is I forgot to put on my ace ankle bandage so I needed to take extra care not to aggravate anything.
I now run without music and it is surprisingly relaxing to just hear my breathing and footfalls instead of rage against the machine. I ran strong and solid the first 2.5 miles, then I walk for about 100 meter and ran another 1.7 miles before taking another quick walk. Over all I was solid until about 5 miles when my feet started to hurt but I focused past that and continued on. Mile 5 seems to be my UGH mile and I think I probably walked about 1/4 mile before finding my pace again.
This is suppose to be a Long Slow Distance run so I started chanting Long slow distance to remind myself to slow down and just keep moving my feet. This got me through mile 5 and all the way to mile 5.9. I’m annoyed by the gps in my phone. The course is a 3 mile loop. Do it twice I should have 6 miles. I end up with 5.9.
Whatever. I was a solid run and i finished it off with my asylum relief. I complained about this workout last week, I’ve never been happier to do a Shaun-T stretching routine! So this time I watched more closely while doing the workout and the girls in the video are typically in various degrees of giggling or trying to hide a laugh. Watch them, its hilarious. Shaun-t is talking soft and doing his black Jesus arms stretched out and intense eyes glaring at the screen. ”Make your body feel good.”
Well Shaun T, don’t mind if i do.
Excellent run, solid stretch. See you tomorrow for more Asylum
Keep pushing play!

Shaun-T, why would you, in the middle of a difficult time, tell me that THIS is were i’m going to die? You assume that I made it this far, which I did, but what if i hadn’t? And what if I was just barely hanging on by a thread and to hear this would break my sweaty fragile spirit.
Day 13 Strength is one of my favorite workouts in this series, i’m strong enough to do it and I went up weights by 5lbs today. my back is still sore but it loosens up for the workout so i’m going with it. I will admit that I SOOOO didn’t want to get up this morning and do this workout. The distinct lack of “rest days” in asylum wears on you, good thing tomorrow is Porn…I mean relief stretch day!
Pay off for doing this morning workout? I walked into the kitchen where my wife is feeding my 10 month old and she looks at me and say: “You look hot, we should take a picture and make a poster”
With a reaction like that, you bet you ass i’ll be back tomorrow for more of the same. Time for a peanut butter and chocolate shakology.
Keep pushing play and i’m off to Wiz-con (its like comic-con only more pop culture people)
#P90X day 82, this is the last strength workout and the last ab ripper x workout!!! If this was high school, i just took my last finals and the last week of school is just showing up until I graduate!
I”m so excited and exhausted that im kind of shaking right now. I ran last night and got up this morning and pushed myself through MOST of the legs. I wasn’t sure how well my legs would hold out but I’m pretty happy with the strength, the form and the effort. Good bye legs and back, you are a workout that has done WONDERS in shrinking the size of my legs and you will not be missed.
Ab Ripper X was amazing today. I pushed and pushed and was able to get at least 20 reps with all the exercises. I didn’t realize that running worked your abs as much as it does and i was sore from the get go starting this exercise. I”m curious what the ab routine will be in P90X:MC2 this november. So long torture of my mid section. i”m not bulging a six pack but I know it’s in there. ARX goes into my workout library as a routine I will do when I’m not doing a dedicated program in a few month. Ok who am I kidding, I’ve got my workout blueprint laid out.
Next week is it! Recovery week, the last 6 days of P90X. Yoga, core, kenpo, stretch, core and yoga! We are on the victory liap so stick with it and lets make the last days Xtreme!
Reminder: Aug i’m starting #theasylum so get your copy and join me. Where P90X and ARX left off, Shaun T is going to pick up the baton and continue to mold my body.
This is the summer of fit and all you have to do to participate is continue to…

Day 80!
We are doing this people! 10 more smurf’in day and I will be a P90X graduate. For those of you on the same journey and close to finishing, stick with it. So many people quit the last few weeks and you can’t do that. I know it may feel boring at times and you’re tired and sore, but push through, you’re getting stronger and leaner and…X like!
Today was tough, I’m still a little tired from yesterdays sauna run and my lower back was sore but I got up, did the stretching (which seems to be hard for some reason) and I worked out with dedication and focus.
Tony says it all the time but P90X is for people who want to focus and get in amazing shape. I really feel it’s the cornerstone to my other workouts. It gives me a strength base that I haven’t gotten working out in years. I can go forward to Insanity: Asylum or Turbo fire and know I have the strength to be able to complete those workouts. Speaking of which…
Asylum— Starting it in about 12 days and if you want to do this agility, speed and cardio workout with me you have time to order your copy and get in on the fitness madness that is going to enhance everything I do physically. It’s 30 days, no 90, no 60 like original Insanity, 30 days. One month. If you want to be sure you’re slim for sept when you’re taking your kids to school or spending that last few days on the beach before summer vacation is over, get this workout. 30 days, 45 minutes a day. Insanity: Asylum…. Let’s do this together!
Ab ripper X is geting a lot more solid which is good as I have one more session of this on Friday and then it on to the last 6 days of “recovery week”. I”m thrilled at my effort and results for this first round of P90X. I started my fitness Journey on Jan 2 of this year at 360 lbs, i’m now under 300 and will do final weigh in and pictures in 10 days. Those pictures and that weight will also be my Asylum start point and i’m excited to see what results i can get from this.
It’s simple, find a program, stick to that program, eat healthy (or drink shakeolog) and see the results. Hard, yes, Impossible, no way. All you need to do is continue to…

I
Today is suppose to be Kenpo-X. I figured a 6 hour drive, hiking and camping will more than make up for me skipping Kenpo. I’ll do some swimming and jogging on trails as well. Can we call it even Tony? Huh? Can we?
Ok cool!
Also, thanks to everyone that follows me, I appreciate the support and comments and just knowing someone is reading. I”m putting a call out now in case anyone is interested in joining me for the 30 days Shakeology challenge and my next workout Insanity: Asylum ( both to begin on Aug 1)
Check out the links for Shakeology and the Asylum workout and give it some thought. Nothing makes it more fun than going through a workout with someone.
Keep pushing play people, the pounds are falling off!

I got up late today so my original plan was to do P90X in the morning and Asylum at night. I did Asylum when i got home from work and instanly transitioned into P90X Yoga-X because this is my “recovery” week.
Asylum - This shit is crazy! So this is only my day one but the issue is not so much Cardio difficulty as just basic coordination! I”m a black belt, played football and other sports and I couldn’t get the coordination worked out to save my life. The agility ladder is a lot of fun for about 5 minutes, then shit get’s serious. I can’t seem to figure out a jump rope anymore. WOW, nothing makes you feel out of shape like not being able to jump rope.
I just did a freaking Warrior Dash but i can’t jump rope!!! WTF!
At the end of Asylum, i popped in Yoga-X but frankly i was just going through the motions. I haven’t felt that wiped out since doing Insanity the first time. I don’t think I was this tired doing the warrior dash. I Managed 20 minutes of yoga and then decided that i’m not doing workout’s back to back anymore.
I’m drinking down a Greenberry Shakeology now to have my body nice and fueled for tomorrow mornings Core session with p90X
Our little group is doing the Beachapalooza run the end of July. This is essentially the Warrior Dash on a beach. This time everyone’s getting involved. The girls have started training for the run. I’m excited to see fitness come into all my friends life.
Anyway, I managed to Push Play…see you in the morning
