Everyone will have a 2012 resolution to lose weight; you can be DONE by the time everyone else is starting! Why wait until January to get in the best shape of your life, Instead Fall into Fitness with Bruce & Kat Averyheart. The person who loses the most weight, the most inches, and gains the most muscle mass, will win $500. Below are the official rules and regulations.

I have discovered the Dark Sdie of losing weight. YES there is a dark side to losing weight…Ok not really dark but something no one talks about. I hurt!
As you drop weight, your body does not:
1. Really want to drop weight
2. Does not drop weight evenly
3. Drops weight from areas you actually need padding.
I’m dropping padding from my butt bone, the bottoms of my feet and hands, my elbows and knees, you know, basically anyplace you make contact with hard things and padding would be good. It now hurts when i sit on hard chairs for long periods of time as my ass bones are now pushing as I’ve lost padding, gained muscle but am still kind of heavy. I run in vibrams or barefoot. initially i had more padding on my feet, now it seems as they have gotten skinner, the pounding on the ground is harder. I talk about running 3-5-7 miles but I never really talk about the fact that I bruise at least the tip of one toe every time. Good thing I heal fast!
Hands and elbows OUCH, I ran into the corner of a wall today and I thought my arm was on fire! The extra padding I had on my elbows are gone so I now feel all impacts. My fingers hurt if i carry something a tad to heavy and there is no extra to absorb the shock. Os i’m losing weight faster in my extremities than my core…ugh!
Also sickness!!! I have a theory and its slowly playing out to be true. So say you were sick at 150lbs over time you gain weight and now you’re 200lb and you get sick and then you get sick again at 245 lbs. At 260 you decide to lose weight. when you hit 245, suddenly you’re sick again, then you’re fine until you hit 200 and so on and so on. I think the body STORES sickness and antibodies in the fat cells. when you begin to lose weight, you break down the fat and release whatever you were sick with and then you have to fight it again. this is just a theory but i’ve managed to catch a cold or sinus infection at the same weights I had them before.
So yeah, there is a dark side to losing weight. Ultimately its worth it but just be aware that it HURTS to lose weight, but it’s a good pain…mostly. Now iwhen i walk i have to make sure i don’t bump into things anymore.

Today has been a busy day! I went running first as today is my 4 mile day for the 10 week to 1/2 marathon training. I can’t say it was the fastest run but it was a strong run and i can feel me getting stronger as a runner. I’m able to push through at parts where I would normally stop and walk. Last time I said don’t run up hill the last 1/2 mile of your run. This time I did the hill on the 2nd mile of my run, you know what? It doesn’t really get any easier. So my time is simple, Hills suck! I did 4 miles in 52 minutes, 4 minutes faster than the last time i did it. i’ll get faster, i’m building a solid base.
So i got my new contacts today! Why am I telling this? Normally I workout blind at 4am so I get a quick look at the people but never really see them in detail. I did Stretch-X today after getting my new contacts and after my 4 mile run, it just seemed like a good combo activity. OMG Shana is freakin HOT! Ok not look at her hot but she moves HOT! She’s flexible and has huge bubble lips. I want, I want, I want!!!
ahem…anyway, stretch-x, not as intense as yoga x but I get a wonderful stretch from the later 1/2 of the workout. The beginning is mostly the stuff you do every morning when doing p90x. The money comes about minute 33 when you do camel and from then on the legs and hips get a great stretch. Shawna have very flexible legs and hips, quite…inspirational. I kind of wish i did this workout on Sundays instead of taking it as a rest day. Stretching is very under rated and I don’t do it nearly enough. I wonder how Shawna looks during yoga…mmm.
Anyway, beachpalooza is Saturday, which is perfect since I have to run 3 miles for my workout and this race is a 5k!!! See, I plan ahead-ish. I need to have a chocolate shakeology and chill out and rest a little bit. My left ankle, the one that i sprang and trigger me becoming the fat ass I was, is sore. Not a bad sore but a working and getting stronger sore. That doesn’t mean i need to over work it. It’s not swollen like it would be a few months ago when I would run so i know it’s much stronger. I’m still on my anti-biotic for the sinus infection but overall i’m feeling pretty good.
See you tomorrow when I push Play for day 89 of P90X (yoga) and i’ll be keeping an eye out for shawna!

I’ve decided to do another 3 day shakeology cleanse starting TODAY! It was a rather impromptu decision but I think it will do me some good to help me refocus my diet and workout for this last month.
6:30am Greenberry Shake. i’m putting strawberries in it because i’m also going to continue P90X and will need a little bit extra on the calories.
Must remember to drink tons of water and eat my snacks.
